We are pleased to announce the appointment of two members of the Tradition senior management team in the U.S. to the Commodity Futures Trading Commissions (“CFTC”) Global Markets Advisory Committee (“GMAC”) and, in addition, to the Global Market Structure and Technical Issues Subcommittees.
Scott Fitzpatrick, CEO of TraditionSEF and Global Head of Tradition’s Market Data business (TraditionData) will serve on the full GMAC committee and on the Global Market Structure Subcommittee while Stuart Giles, Tradition’s U.S. Chief Strategy Officer (“CSO”) will serve on the Technical Issues Subcommittee.
As part of the GMAC, sponsored by Commissioner Caroline D. Pham, and the Global Market Structure Subcommittee, Mr Fitzpatrick will play a key role in helping the committee meet its objective of advising the Commission on issues that affect the integrity and competitiveness of U.S. markets and U.S. firms engaged in global business. This will include the regulatory challenges of a global marketplace that reflects the increasing interconnectedness of markets and the multinational nature of our business.
As part of the Technical Issues Subcommittee, Mr Giles will help the Commission in identifying and assessing key issues and policy proposals with respect to technical requirements that apply to global markets, including financial market infrastructures, market participants, end-users, and service providers.
“It is an honor to have Tradition selected by Commissioner Pham and her team to be part of the CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee. Stuart and I are proud to represent our firm and look forward to contributing to the discussions, debates and actions taken over the coming months to further improve the operational efficiency and integrity of U.S. Markets and of the roles U.S. firms play in the global financial markets.” Scott Fitzpatrick, Global Head TraditionData.
Both appointments place Tradition and it’s executive team at the heart of helping the CFTC with their contribution toward shaping new standards, regulations, and policies to ensure the better functioning of the global marketplace. These appointments are also a testament to the decades of experience, knowledge and expertise which inform TraditionData’s products and high-quality market data offering.
About GMAC: The Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) was created in 1998 to advise the Commission on issues that affect the integrity and competitiveness of U.S. markets and U.S. firms engaged in global business, including the regulatory challenges of a global marketplace that reflects the increasing interconnectedness of markets and the multinational nature of business. The GMAC also makes recommendations regarding international standards for regulating futures, swaps, options, and derivatives markets, as well as intermediaries. Members include financial market infrastructures, market participants, end-users, service providers, and regulators.
